Miruku opened up just last October, so it is still in the beginning of their wonderful journey. I can't wait to see the business continue growing, and hopefully have their own cafe restaurant one day. Supporting local business has always been on my heart because I truly see the hard work and dedication that comes out of it. Opening a business is no easy job!
Fun Fact: Miruku the name was inspired after she made some Japanese milk tea ~ and Miruku is milk in Japanese. One of the drink specialties she offers is the milk tea drink. Here is a preview of the drink menu:

When I walked in, I was greeted by the owner Viviana with a bright smile, and then I was offered a seat. It is a cozy little nook with warm purple accents here and there! Some fun things Viviana had in mind were to host baking lessons at the pop up location so that you guys can learn the art of pastry making. After learning you can hopefully one impress your friends and family with the skills you learned!
If you have stalked my foodie IG, you will see that I love baking. But often times, everything I make does not turn out as planned out from the recipe books like that one time I made failed macrons. That is why I really need to attend one of her baking lessons one day!

Viviana is trained in Japanese and French Pastries and she wanted to find ways to incorporate the two different cultures to capture the best of both worlds! There are many unique items that you will not be able to find anywhere else such as the bulgogi quiche, matcha tiramisu, and matcha red bean crepe. I had a decision dilemma moment, so when I asked her what she recommenced, she told me to try their matcha tiramisu and the Sittori Cheese Terrin .

Do you know what love at first sight means? Well for me, that was described by the first bite I took into the matcha tiramisu. The creme sauce was so silky with a sudden hint of matcha, paired along with the slight crunch of the lady fingers. And guess what- The lady fingers are HOMEMADE, made with love. I am not the biggest fan of lady fingers because the store bought ones are overly sweet and processed, but these ones made me love them again. Everything that Miruku produces is homemade, and fresh so it ensures for the best quality.

The cheese terrine has more of an ice cream cake texture, that is not too dense or too fluffy. I was amazed by the smoothness of the terrine and so she shared how it is made from a fresh marscapone base. The stellar presentation of this dish gave me a hard time indulging into it. Do you see the cute reindeer face? How can one eat something that adorable?? The raspberry nose, and the chocolate chip eyes are such fun ways of adding that special touch to the dish!

Santa would want this cheese terrine to be his helper to get him through the night. Again, I really enjoyed the texture of the cheese terrine because It was not as heavy as a traditional cheesecake, but not too light like your Japanese ones.
One of my most favorite things to do it to chat with the owners and to embrace the human connections we can make with one another. Viviana is so humble and generous, and we had such a great conversation about her business and about baking and food in general! It is fun to chat with someone new because you can learn so many new things!
Before I left, I decided to pick up the Pretzel Meringue snack bag! I am a huge fan of sweet and salty, so this made the perfect snack that I could not stop munching on. I was literally fighting my sister to savor every last piece in this bag! The meringue had a subtle sweetness, paired with the salty taste of the pretzel gave it that special touch!
Look:

Even looking back at this photo is giving me the drools, I need to pre-order more of this to satisfy my cravings!! Please go checkout Miruku, and try something, trust me it was truly a magical experience! Plus Viviana has some sweet surprises coming so stay tuned on the IG to discover more!
Cheers to a great Friday!
