Hello friends! Often times I find myself going hunting around town for the best cafes. In my eyes, a great cafe primarily has to serve great coffee, and the second requirement is for it to be a cozy environment PERFECT for the Instagram moments!
I know a lot of people enjoy also taking photos at cafes, so I decided to share with you my favorite ones in town?! Again, this list should keep growing, but for now these are the few that I enjoyed my experience at!
5) Cafe Cristal
240 Kennevale Dr
I been to cafe Crystal a couple of times, and let us take a moment to adore how gorgeous the aesthetics inside this nook is!

This is a cafe hidden in the awesome suburb of Barrhaven (jk~more like Farrhaven). I grown up in Barrhaven, so I was very happy when they opened here. Although I don’t go there all the time, every time I walk in, I feel like a princess stepping into a Victorian Cafe!
They have great interior decorations including vintage tea cup sets, mirrors, and a cozy fireplace. Sometimes they invite musicians to gig here, and I was very happy when I walked in on their gig-Friday! Supporting local musicians always puts a smile to my face, and added to the great experience.

(We had a full blown photo shoot inside the cafe way back when I had long hair )
Along with drinks, they also serve delicious desserts, crepes, and snacks! In the Summer, they occasionally will sell Stella Luna Gelato. Stella Luna Gelato is the best gelato you will find in town!

4) Origin Trade Cafe
111 York St, Ottawa,
The second cafe I will be sharing about is a hidden gem in the Byward Market. Origin Trade Cafe has a very rustic feel, and has great decor inside and outside. I love the hanging lights that light up the outdoors.

One of my friends told me about this place because he says they are always open late at night till 12am/1. Ottawa is a great city to live in, but not many business open till 12 . Since Origin's the few that do, it makes it a great spot for last minute snacks and drinks!
There are many knick knack decorations that make this cafe unique. I tried their lattes and also their lunch panin. The prices here are pretty standard, and not too too expensive. Plus, the baristas take their time making the drinks here. I still remember when I was starting to take photos, the barista came over with the second drink and it was gorgeous! She told me that she saw me taking photos so she decided to make the second drink extra aesthetic.

3) Happy Goat Cafe
317 Wilbrod St
Happy Goat Cafe sure made me very happy after my first visit here! There are a few locations in Ottawa, but I visited the Sandy Hill Location because it is near my school! One of my baker IG friends actually works there, so she told me to go visit her.
It is quite the hidden gem in the area, and I am sure many students go there to study and chill! I ordered the Dirty Chai, which is basically a chai tea latte with shots of espresso in it. I usually don’t like Chai because I find it too sweet and artificial tasting. But, at Happy Goat, my mindset totally changed! I asked them if they used syrups, but they pointed to a jar of powder mix.
It was honestly the smoothest Chai drink I had, and it was the perfect balance of spices. The microfoam was also steamed to the tee.

My friend was very kind, and treated me to her creme puff, and the salted caramel tart. I loved the salted caramel tart because it had a great filling, and the pie crust was very good. My friend often experiments different desserts, and there are always vegan options available.
2) Arlington 5 Cafe
5 Arlington Ave

Arlington 5 reminds me of movies with that cafe where the main characters fall in love and meet up at. It is such a gorgeous cafe inside and outside. I like how they choose the dark blue color because it gives it a great pop to the exterior.
I was also admiring their bean grinder, and their espresso machine! It looked very professional and rustic.

This cafe utilises their space really well, and has a great open concept layout. They have a long bench table, and smaller tables on the side of the cafe. I walked to the back of the cafe, and took a peep at the antique type writer machine, and also the other decorations that builds the character of Arlington 5.

Their location is right next to Wilf & Ada's, so if you were out on a brunch date, be sure to come to Arlington 5 for some cafe after. My go to drink at cafes is just a standard latte. I like the aesthetics of pretty latte art, and I foamy steamed milk! They also sell muffins, oat bars, soups and lunch sandwiches.

1) Little Victories Coffee Roasters
801 Bank St, Ottawa
I saw this place on Instagram, and I immediately told my friends that we will visit here. What enchanted me about this place was their latte art, and their floor tiles! I have seen so many Instagram posts of cafes with this kind of flooring peeping here and there.
When I first walked in, I felt like I stepped into a beautiful magazine that was too surreal to explain. The plants on the wall, the minimalist flooring, and the layout of the cafe really brought this magazine feel to life! I think there are a handful of people who also come for the Instagram! My friends and I stayed around for quite a bit because we each of us took turns sitting at this one spot posing for the camera.

I am not sure how long this cafe has been in business for, but I wish I discovered it earlier! The baristas were super friendly, and the atmosphere is awesome. I decided to grab the “magic” drink which is basically a smaller latte with a stronger and bolder taste. It is the drink on the left in the photo down below.

And that is it ! Thank you for tuning in, and I hope you will come visit these cute cafes some time in the future! Invite me if you do!! Cheers <3
