Hello ! One of my favorite places to grab fancy gelato around town is Stella Luna Gelato Cafe. I remember when I was in grade 7, my mom first brought me here, and I tried their pistachio gelato first. The pistachio gelato felt like love at first bite!
Chinese Language Tip:
Pistachio in Chinese is 開心果 , and the English translation is: the happy nut. My mom used to tell me that we eat them during Chinese New Year because it will bring forth happiness. It grew onto a tradition in my household, and I always look forward to munch on pistachios during the time.
There are two locations of the cafe in Ottawa. The OG cafe, is on Bank street, and the second one opened up in Hintonburg over a year ago. I will be talking about their newer location in this blog post. Tammy the gelato master who is the owner has won awards worldwide for her rum- infused gelato! They were also awarded with the title- Best Gelato in Canada!
The interior of the cafe is very aesthetic and romantic. The light blue walls paired with the ball lamps, antique decorations, makes this cafe so magical. One thing that I love about this cafe is their open concept feel and their great big windows! The windows allow a lot of natural sunlight that brightens up the cafe!
The best part of their gelato is it is made fresh every day! Stella Luna always never fails me with the variety of flavors, and the creativity that goes behind it. Some of the ones that I tried are

Pistachio
Blood-Orange Sorbet
Vanilla
Rum infused dark chocolate
Mango Sorbet
They also let you choose up to three flavors for their large size! My family usually shares one cup, and we always get a sorbet/fruity flavor, one nutty, and a new one to try!
This day we tried a berry flavor, the dark chocolate rum, and a caramel flavor. I don't remember the exact name of the caramel flavor one, but my family and I loved it! It had a cotton candy taste, which was awesome! I love the vast variety of flavors and selection that Stella Luna offers. They are truly one of a kind, and sweeten up your day!
